Whales
I couldn’t help but smile
When I heard the whales
Were slamming yachts.
Imagining the scene of fear,
The rich become the laughing stock.
Yeah, I couldn’t help but smile
As I pushed away all consequence
And fought to feel the desperation
Surging from the boiling depths.
As though it could awake in me.
Bubble up and sway the tide, but no.
It’s all too big to bear. We talk
but feel too small to care.
So we are all just stranded here.
Waiting for the boat to flip.
To hope the oligarchy slips.
We cowards, let the fish fight
Man-made ships.
